I loved it, since I liked Elon from the moment I met him (in early 1999). He was funny, singularly focused, not easy to read, and it was unclear how his mind worked, which to me was curious and unsettling. At 27 he was surprisingly stubborn, with a lack of fear and obedience to propriety that was either genius or crazy, depending on who you asked. Working with Elon was an adventure and a most excellent ride – intense, exciting, fun – as was the PayPal story altogether.

Me: Elon’s initial hire at x.com, before the company became known as PayPal, the online payment service. With the company from startup through the merger with Confinity, IPO, and the sale of the company to eBay. Very brief stint at SpaceX.

Thanks for asking. Here’s a pic of an old shirt I recently found, just for fun. :) Kind of wish I still had my trophy from the go-kart track.
